The IATF has approved Stakeholder Communique SC-2022-008 Release of Sanctioned Interpretations (SIs) and Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) related to IATF 16949:2016 and an SI for Rules 5th Edition
The purpose of this Communiqué is to advise all IATF Stakeholders that the IATF has issued IATF 16949 Sanctioned Interpretation SI 23 – SI 25, Rules 5th Edition Sanctioned Interpretation SI 31 and a revised IATF 16949 Frequently Asked Question FAQ 29.

The International Automotive Task Force (IATF) Beijing Administrative Office is seeking for full-time, qualified candidates who are interested in becoming an IATF Witness Auditor. The ideal candidate would be an active third-party IATF 16949 Auditor or have a minimum of five (5) years practical quality experience working in automotive manufacturing (or similar scope of applicability) to be considered.

The purpose of this Communiqué is to advise all IATF Stakeholders that the IATF has revised and reissued Rules 5th Edition Sanctioned Interpretation SI 29, along with the issuance of SI 30 and Frequently Asked Question FAQ 8.

IATF has launched the Chinese IATF website and the IATF Performance Complaint Management System (IATF CMS) within the IATF database. Below are the details for both.
Chinese IATF website
This website is designed to specifically translate the predominately English content of the English IATF website into Chinese language. The IATF Chinese website will further promote the IATF brand in China and improve the understanding of the needs of the IATF, especially for China-based OEMs, China-based Certification Bodies and their auditors and China-based Suppliers.

IATF Performance Complaint Management System (IATF CMS) within the IATF Database
The IATF CMS is a workflow tool which provides a standard approach for the submission and management of performance complaints against IATF 16949 certified organizations initiated by IATF OEMs or IATF Oversight offices and is aligned to the certificate decertification process defined in the Rules for Achieving and Maintaining IATF Recognition 5th Edition.
An IATF Performance Complaint Management System user manual is provided in the IATF database and client portal to support the implementation of this initiative.

This communique emphasizes the importance of using authorized IATF publications, including translations, and states where to find the authorized documents. Effective 1 February 2022, the seventh Revision of the IATF Measures Coronavirus Pandemic COVID-19 document incorporates the following updates:
- Revised requirements to add time for remote audits
- New requirements added to clarify that the certification decisions shall be made prior to the original expiration date of the existing certificate
- New requirement added to clarify when to cancel certificates that were granted a global six (6) months extension
- Clarified applicability of audit days reduction associated with a Letter of Conformance after a remote initial audit
- Clarified that Stage 1 is a Readiness Review
- Added new FAQ 12
- Clarified in Annex A which topics are for the opening meeting agenda of remotely conducted audits
- Requirements previously contained within Revision 4 have been moved to a linked separate document for historical reference.
- All changes to the previously communicated Revision 6 are highlighted in red.

At the IATF 2021 November virtual meeting, the IATF unanimously voted to welcome IVECO Group into the IATF as an OEM voting member. This marks a significant milestone in the history of the IATF as IVECO Group will be the first dedicated Heavy Truck and Commercial Vehicle member to join the IATF and is a clear signal of IATF’s intent to boost the scheme’s growth in different areas of the automotive sector.

The IATF has approved the following CB Communiques to be released.
CB Communique 2021-012 IATF ADP Pre study requirements for New Auditor Candidates
The purpose of this Communiqué is to advise all IATF-recognized certification bodies, including their auditors and free ticket candidates, about changes in the ADP pre study requirements for new auditor candidates previously communicated in CB Communique #2020-003 “Auditing FMEA and Control Plan” & “Auditing MSA and SPC” on the IATF ADP (Mandatory Training/Quiz Requirements).
Effective 1 January 2022, New auditor candidates are now required to complete and pass the Auditing FMEA and Control Plan & Auditing MSA and SPC training and quiz modules in the IATF ADP before they are able to register for a New Auditor Training Event.

At the request of LGAI Technological Center SA, the contract with the IATF will be terminated effective 31st December 2021. Therefore LGAI Technological Center SA will no longer be recognized by the IATF as a Certification Body for IATF 16949 certification effective 1st January 2022. In response to this, the IATF developed a transfer process including several waivers and concessions to support those organizations currently certified by LGAI to transfer to another IATF-recognized Certification Body. Please see below for the process.
